Using Firefox 3.0 On Vista? You *need* the Glasser Extension

Firefox 3.0 with Glasser
Glasser: The Firefox Extension for users of Windows Vista

So... yesterday I stumbled on this awesome extension for Mozilla Firefox 3.0 running on Microsoft Windows Vista.  As in the screenshot above, it very simply turns the "Toolbar" area of Firefox (with the back/forward, refresh/stop, home, and print buttons) into the transparent "glassy" mode controlled by Vista's Aero theme.  Which is totally cool and you need to have it now.  Now.

"BUT IT LOOKS LIKE IE!"  You're right.  And this appearance blessing is one of the few things IE7 on Vista did right... and I'm still trying to figure out why in the world it was not included in the standard Firefox 3.0 release for Windows Vista.  Perhaps Mozilla will bless us by implementing it in the 3.1 release, or another future version.  :)

Anyway... you can get the Glasser extension for Firefox by clicking here.  As this addon is currently in "Experimental" mode, the Mozilla Add-ons site requires you to have a login to download it.  Registration is simple and free, so that's not a big deal.  However, if you'd prefer, you can skip all that craziness by downloading the xpi (pronounced zippy) file here.

Edit:  I just wanted to point out that I have been running this for a day agressively, and I have not had any problems with it so far.  The extension is small in size, and I've looked through the non-binary code... it looks solid.  You shouldn't experience any problems unless you have another extension that makes xul overlays to the toolbar area that end up conflicting with this one.  That, to me however, is not considered a bug, but incompatibility with another Firefox extension.
